Kevin Durant scored 22 points, Thabo Sefolosha set playoff career-bests with 19 points and six steals, and the Oklahoma City Thunder snapped San Antonio’s 20-game winning streak by beating the Spurs 102-82 in Game 3 of the Western Conference finals on Thursday night. Oklahoma City closed its series deficit to 2-1 and will host Game 4 on Saturday night.

Bob Hartley, who was rumoured as a favourite to land the head coaching job with the Montreal Canadiens, was introduced as head coach of the Calgary Flames at a news conference on Thursday. Hartley spent the 2011-12 season coaching the ZSC Lions in Zurich to the National A League Championship.

Nicklas Lidstrom made it official on Thursday, announcing his retirement from the Detroit Red Wings after 20 seasons in the NHL. The four-time Stanley Cup champion and seven-time Norris Trophy winner fought back tears as he made the announcement.

The Toronto Blue Jays have outrighted first baseman Adam Lind to the minors and selected the contract of pitcher Robert Coello.

Lind was optioned to triple-A Las Vegas on May 17 after batting .186 with three home runs and 11 RBI in 34 games for the Jays.

World record-holder Usain Bolt put his poor performance in the Czech Republic behind him with a new season’s best of 9.76 seconds in the 100-meter race at the Golden Gala on Thursday.

Canadian Milos Raonic defeated American qualifier Jesse Levine 6-4, 7-5, 6-2 on Thursday to reach the third round of the French Open.

Six-time champion Rafael Nadal and three- time Grand Slam runner-up Andy Murray were a pair of winners, while 6-foot-9 American John Isner lost in an epic second-round affair Thursday at the French Open.

Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova and reigning French Open champ Li Na were among Thursday’s second-round winners at Roland Garros.
